Important Information for Nonprofits
Registered nonprofit organizations can apply for discounted Stripe processing fees. Stripe’s nonprofit rates are separate from Ticketstripe’s nonprofit rates.
- Default Rate: For domestic debit/credit cards, including Apple Pay and Google Pay, the standard fee is 2.9% + $0.30, typically passed on to the buyer.
- Nonprofit Rate: A special rate of 2.2% for all cards (except American Express at 3.5%) is available, providing significant savings on most transactions.
- Adjustable Rate: Upon request, Ticketstripe can adjust the set rate passed to attendees. This rate will not fluctuate based on the buyer’s payment method. Our recommendation for organizations with Stripe Nonprofit Pricing is to pass on the Default/Standard Stripe fee of 2.9% + $0.30 to help cover any higher American Express charges.
Exceptions to Consider
- International Cards: Additional fees apply for currency conversion, impacting transactions outside your domestic region.
- Klarna: Due to its higher charges, opting in is required, and these costs cannot be passed to buyers by default.
